How do I upload my coursework for marking?

Send your work for marking

1. Drag your file onto the upload box, or choose Browse files. One file per submission.
2. Choose your subject, then the rubric that matches your task. For an IA, also choose Standard Level or Higher Level.
3. Under Select coursework progress, choose I haven't finished my work for feedback on a draft, or I've finished writing my work for feedback on the finished piece. A draft never carries a score.
4. Set Coursework Language. If your work is finished, also choose a Citation Format.
5. Choose Mini Report or Full Report. Full Report is the one that carries a score, and it needs Pro. With Pro this step does not appear at all and you always get the full report.
6. Tick the confirmation checkbox, then choose Grade My Coursework.

You have to be signed in to upload. Marking takes a few minutes. You do not have to sit on the page: the report has its own page, it stays listed under Recent Submissions on the grader page, and we email you when it is done unless you have turned product emails off.

Delete my file after 48 hours is already ticked when you reach the last step. Untick it if you want to keep the file on your account.

File types and size limits

The grader takes one document per submission, in one of three formats:

• PDF, which is the format we recommend
• DOCX
• DOC

The size cap follows the report type. A Mini Report takes files up to 50 MB and a Full Report takes files up to 100 MB. The upload box comes before the report step, so the cap in force there is the one your plan gives you: 50 MB without Pro, 100 MB with it. 100 MB is the hard ceiling, and nothing larger is accepted on any plan.

A Word file is converted to PDF for you after you submit, which is why a DOCX takes a little longer. If the conversion fails, try again in a few minutes. If it fails again, export the document as a PDF yourself, from File then Save As, and upload that PDF.

There is no word limit

Nothing in the grader counts your words. A 4,000 word chemistry EE, a 4,000 word history IA, a full TOK essay: all of them are fine, and length is never the reason a submission is turned away.

One optional extra does have a word figure attached. Run AI-writing and exemplar similarity checks reads at most the first 5,000 words of your work, and no more than the AI checker words left on your plan. That shortens the check. It does not stop your work being marked.
