IB Chemistry is a Group 4 subject in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). It explores structure and reactivity through 22 interconnected topics including particulate nature of matter, bonding models, classification of matter, chemical reaction drivers, kinetics, equilibria, and reaction mechanisms, with a strong focus on experimental work, practical investigation skills, data analysis, and scientific inquiry.
The course is available at Standard Level (SL, 150 teaching hours) and Higher Level (HL, 240 teaching hours), with first assessment in 2025.
