IB English A Language & Literature is a Group 1 subject in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). It explores the study of language and literature through a wide variety of texts and media from different periods, styles, and cultures, with a strong focus on critical analysis of both literary and non-literary texts, examining how language choices create meaning and effect in different contexts.
The course is available at Standard Level (SL), 150 teaching hours and Higher Level (HL), 240 teaching hours, with first assessment in 2021.
