IB Arabic A (Literature) is a Group 1 subject in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). It studies literary works written in Arabic alongside works in translation, across genres, periods and places, with a strong focus on close reading, the interpretation of literary technique, and the way readers, texts and contexts shape meaning.
The course is available at Standard Level (SL), 150 teaching hours and Higher Level (HL), 240 teaching hours, with first assessment in 2026.
