What happens 48 hours after you submit

The last step before you submit has a checkbox, Delete my file after 48 hours, and it is already ticked when you reach it. Leave it ticked and your file expires 48 hours after you submit. From that moment you can no longer open it anywhere in RevisionDojo, and a job that runs every hour takes expired files out of the grader's storage.

Your report is not affected. The grade, the criterion comments and the annotations are stored apart from the file and stay in your account until you remove them. Open an expired submission and the report reads as normal, with File Access Expired where the document used to be.

Two things stop working. You can no longer view the original document, and you can no longer chat about it, because the chat needs the text of the document to answer.

Untick the box before you submit if you want to keep the file. Nothing expires then, and you can still delete the submission later.

Delete a submission yourself

1. Open the IB Coursework Grader and find the submission under Recent Submissions.
2. Open the menu on the submission card and choose Delete.
3. Confirm in the Delete Submission box by choosing Delete again.

This removes the submission itself, along with the grade, every comment and every annotation on it. You can do it at any time, whether or not the file has expired.

Deleting your whole account removes your submissions with it.

Who can open your work

A submission opens only for the account that uploaded it. Another student cannot reach it: the server refuses a request for someone else's submission rather than hiding it on the page. Our own staff accounts can open one, including after the file has expired, so that support can look into a marking problem you report to us.

Marking is done by AI, so the text of your work goes to the AI providers we use for it. If you tick Run AI-writing and exemplar similarity checks, your text also goes to the AI-writing detection providers. Every company that handles data for us is named on our subprocessors page, with what it is used for.

If your school uploads a class set

Teachers who mark a whole class at once, from the bulk grader inside a classroom, get the same control with more choice. The setting reads Delete my files after, and the value next to it can be 48 hours, 7 days or 30 days. It starts on 48 hours.

When that time is up the files expire and no one at the school can open them again. The reports, grades and comments stay in the classroom. Unticking the box keeps the files instead, with no expiry date.
