IB Chinese A: Language & Literature is a Group 1 subject in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). It explores both literary and non-literary texts in Chinese, analyzing language use, meaning, and cultural contexts across various text types and themes, with a strong focus on textual analysis, comparative essay writing, and developing critical thinking and communication skills through oral and written assessments.
The course is available at Standard Level (SL, 150 teaching hours) and Higher Level (HL, 240 teaching hours), with first assessment in 2024.
