Focus	What strong work does
Political issue	Explain a clearly defined political issue at a local or community scale and show how power operates. Identify the location, relevant actors, affected groups, contested decision or process, and political impact so the reader immediately understands what is happening, where, who is involved and why it matters.
Importance and suitability	Explain the political significance of the project, not only the student’s personal interest. Show why this context is appropriate and why the inquiry is feasible, accessible and safe.
Engagement activities	Describe each engagement activity concretely, including what happened, who participated, where and when it took place, how the student prepared and what insight the activity was intended to provide.
Engagement relevance	Justify each engagement activity by explaining how it contributes a necessary perspective or type of evidence to the inquiry. Activities should answer the political issue rather than merely demonstrate participation.
Ethics and safety	Show sound judgment about consent, anonymity, withdrawal, safe settings, boundaries and data handling. If an activity could expose the student or participants to harm, adapt or replace it.
