Nationalization
The process by which a government takes ownership of privately owned businesses, industries, or property. In post-1975 Vietnam, the Communist government nationalized private enterprises as part of its transition to a socialist economy.
Zhenotdel
The Communist Party's Women's Department, established in 1919 to promote female literacy, political participation, and legal equality, and to draw women into party and state work. Led first by Alexandra Kollontai, it ran until 1930, when the party judged the 'woman question' resolved and shut it down.
