Purpose of Cartoons and Comics

Editorial cartoons aim to satirise: they mock, criticise, or expose hypocrisy in political figures, institutions, or social norms.
Comic strips aim to entertain and comment: humour is the vehicle, but the underlying message is often social critique.
Graphic novel extracts aim to narrate and explore: they use the visual medium to tell complex stories about identity, trauma, or history.
