Scientific innovation (l'innovation scientifique) moves society forward by changing how we live and interact.
It offers many opportunities (des opportunités) but also brings certain risks (des risques).

You do not need to be a scientist to talk about this topic.
You only need to explain how technology (la technologie) affects people and the environment (l'environnement).

You should present a balanced view (un point de vue équilibré) by looking at both sides.

Example

Opening: Je vous écris pour exprimer mon opinion sur l'IA à l'école (I am writing to express my opinion on AI at school).
