The Purpose of Paper 1
1. Le Paper 1 is your chance to show your compétences en rédaction (writing skills) in French.

4. Your goal is to produce a text that is clair et structuré (clear and structured).
Key Requirements for Success
1. You must follow the type de texte (text type) requested, such as un e-mail (an email) or un blog (a blog).
2. You need to write between 70 and 150 words for the ab initio level.
3. Your writing must adapt to the destinataire (recipient) and the contexte (context).
4. For example, writing to un ami (a friend) is different from writing to un professeur (a teacher).

Note

In French ab initio, Paper 1 counts for 25% of your final grade.
You have a total of 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete the task.
The total score is 30 points.
