IB Psychology HL Internal Assessment Example

The student's investigation aim is focused and clearly tied to a measurable relationship between perceived effort and artistic value.

The student explains the relevance of the topic well, showing why heuristic judgment matters in real-world evaluation.

The student's theory section is accurate and connected explicitly to the investigation.

The student's hypothesis clearly identifies and operationalizes the independent and dependent variables.

The hypothesis could be phrased even more precisely by naming the two conditions explicitly.

A slightly tighter wording would make the prediction read more directly as a testable comparison.

The student clearly identifies the research design and explains why it is suitable for comparing the two conditions.

The student describes the sampling method concretely, including how participants were recruited and who they were.

The student explains the choice of participants and materials with some relevance to the investigation.

The student shows awareness of ethical and practical considerations in how the procedure was carried out.

The design does not fully eliminate a confound because different art forms are still being compared alongside effort information.

The justification for control of variables needs to address more directly how the materials isolate the effect of perceived effort.

Some of the explanations are present but not fully developed into a complete methodological rationale.
