IB Psychology SL Internal Assessment Example

The investigation aim is clear and its real-world relevance is explicitly explained.

The background theory is described accurately and connected to the investigation in a meaningful way.

The hypothesis correctly identifies and operationalizes both the independent and dependent variables.

The ethical paperwork appears misaligned with the actual study purpose, which weakens the coherence of the introduction.

The theory-to-task link could be made slightly more precise by qualifying the use of flashbulb memory for short news headlines.

The repeated-measures design is explained rather than merely named, and its purpose in reducing individual differences is made clear.

The sampling method and participant choice are described with relevant practical and ethical justification.

Controlled variables and materials are not only listed but generally explained in terms of their role in the procedure.

Some controls are only partly convincing or are not clearly shown to be implemented.

The justification for some materials and procedural choices could be more detailed, especially regarding validity and reliability.

The narrow school-based sample limits generalizability, but this limitation is not fully developed in the exploration.
