IB Global Politics HL Internal Assessment Example

The student states a clear political issue and keeps the focus tightly on voting access for homeless people.

The student's personal connection to the issue is specific and convincing, which makes the engagement feel purposeful.

The student connects the topic well to relevant Global Politics ideas such as inequality, rights, democracy, development, and the capability approach.

The opening could be even sharper if the student explicitly showed how the evidence proves political exclusion rather than general social hardship.

A small amount of extra precision would make the issue framing more compelling from the outset.

The student describes a relevant range of engagements, including a council meeting, NGO contact, and interviews with different stakeholders.

The student explains what they learned from several of the engagements rather than only listing what they did.

The mix of political, organisational, and lived-experience voices gives the student's engagement depth and relevance.

The learning from the council meeting could be explained more concretely, especially what insight it gave the student about policy or decision-making.

Some parts of the explanation stay general, so a few more specific reflections would make the engagement more analytical.
