IB Global Politics SL Internal Assessment Example

The student clearly identifies the political issue and explains why it matters in the Scottish constitutional context.

The student justifies the project well by showing why the question is politically significant and worth investigating.

The student's engagement activities are explained clearly and feel purposeful rather than included as an afterthought.

The student's personal motivation would be stronger if they linked it more explicitly to the political concepts being studied.

The student could state more clearly what each interview was intended to help them understand.

The introduction would be even sharper if the inquiry question were tied more directly to the specific analytical focus of the report.

The student uses both secondary sources and interviews, which shows a broader engagement process than simple desk research.

The student brings in contrasting perspectives, which is a sensible way to build a more rounded investigation.

The student's quotations are generally placed where they support the argument rather than sitting disconnected from it.

The student does not explain enough about how interviewees were selected or how the interviews were conducted.

The limitations of using only a small number of interviews are not properly addressed.

Some sources are used without enough explanation of their reliability, authority, or relationship to the claim being made.
