IB Global Politics HL Internal Assessment Example

The student identifies a clear and focused political issue in a specific local context, which gives the investigation direction and relevance.

The student's personal motivation for choosing the topic is explained well and makes the inquiry feel purposeful and authentic.

The student connects the issue to relevant global politics ideas such as power, globalization, neoliberalism, and structural violence.

The links between the student's personal experience and the exact research angle could be explained more precisely.

The connection to course concepts could be made more explicit by showing how each idea will be used in the analysis.

The student describes a relevant engagement activity clearly through three contrasting interviews in Ljubljana.

The range of interviewees gives the student multiple perspectives and helps the engagement connect directly to the issue.

The student shows that the experience challenged an initial assumption, which demonstrates real learning.

The design of the engagement is explained only briefly, so the reader cannot fully see how the interviews were structured to answer the question.

The student does not always show exactly how particular interview details changed their own understanding.

The limitations of relying on three interviews are not explored in enough depth.
