IB Global Politics HL Internal Assessment Example

The student identifies a clear and specific political issue tied to migrant workers in Singapore.

The student's personal motivation is convincing and clearly connected to the inquiry.

The student makes the link to Global Politics explicit by naming relevant concepts such as human rights, equality, power, legitimacy, and development.

The wording of the inquiry shifts slightly, so the focus could be made more consistent throughout.

The student could sharpen the rationale further by naming the exact concepts they will test through the engagement.

The student describes several relevant engagements clearly, including an interview, volunteering, and a discussion with another NGO representative.

The student explains useful learning about legal status, vulnerability, and the different roles NGOs can play.

The student shows that the engagement helped move their understanding from broad ideas to more specific realities faced by migrant workers.

The reflection on how the student's understanding changed is present but not developed in enough depth.

Some sections focus more on what was covered than on what the student learned from the experience itself.

The different engagements would be stronger if each one were linked to a distinct insight.
