Criteria StrandsPro
A.1Identification of issue and justification
Good
Criteria Feedback
- The student states a clear political issue and makes their topic easy to identify from the outset.
- The student's personal motivation for choosing the issue is evident and helps justify the inquiry.
- The student connects the topic to relevant Global Politics ideas such as sustainability, rights, justice, and cooperation.
- The focus shifts between Istanbul and Turkey more broadly, which weakens the precision of the justification.
- Some links to course concepts are asserted rather than fully explained.
- The issue would be stronger if the student showed more clearly why it is a political problem rather than only an environmental one.

Criteria StrandsPro
B.1Explanation of the engagement
Good
Criteria Feedback
- The student describes relevant engagements with people who bring useful civil-society, advocacy, and institutional perspectives.
- The student shows that the engagements helped them learn about the gap between policy and practice.
- The student includes some concrete policy examples and key terms, which makes the engagement more informative.
- At times the report describes what interviewees said without fully explaining what the student learned from it.
- The purpose of some engagements is stated too generally, so the line of inquiry is not always clear.
- The student's reflection would be stronger if they compared how the different perspectives changed or sharpened their own understanding.
