IB Global Politics SL Internal Assessment Example

The student identifies a clear and specific political issue in Ireland and sustains that focus throughout the work.

The student's personal connection to the topic is authentic and helps explain why the issue matters to them.

The student connects the issue convincingly to relevant Global Politics ideas such as human rights, legitimacy, development, and state responsibility.

The framing of the issue could be more precise so the causal relationship is sharper and easier to follow.

At times, different groups are treated too broadly, which blurs important distinctions in the argument.

The student describes a relevant set of engagements that matches the issue well, including interviews, a site visit, and an academic perspective.

The student shows that the engagements gave them meaningful insight into housing insecurity, NGO limits, migration, and misinformation.

The student makes several clear links between what they observed and how their understanding developed.

The reflection is sometimes brief and descriptive rather than fully developed.

At points, the student explains that something helped them learn without showing exactly how their thinking changed.

The connection between the engagement and the political concepts could be made more explicit in places.
