IB Global Politics HL Internal Assessment Example

The student identifies a clear and focused political issue and keeps the engagement anchored to women’s representation in Cypriot decision-making.

The student's personal connection to the topic is specific and convincing, which makes the choice of issue feel authentic rather than generic.

The student connects the issue effectively to Global Politics ideas such as representation, democracy, human rights, and SDG 5.

The student could name the course concepts more precisely and consistently to make the justification more academically explicit.

Some of the framing could be narrowed slightly so that every part of the justification stays tightly focused on the specific parliamentary issue.

The student describes the engagement clearly and selects interviewees whose perspectives are highly relevant to the issue.

The student explains well how the academic interview and the parliamentary interviews each contributed different kinds of understanding.

The student shows reflection on the process itself by recognising growing confidence and the value of contrasting viewpoints.

The student could be more specific about exactly how particular interview responses changed or refined their thinking.

The student could explain more directly why these interviewees were the best possible choices for investigating the issue.
