IB Geography SL Internal Assessment Example

The student chose a clear, real-world urban comparison and supported it with useful maps at different scales.

The student's maps include key conventions such as north arrows, scale bars, captions, and sources.

The study areas are specific enough to make the fieldwork feasible and easy to follow.

The research question is slightly too causal for what the methods can actually prove.

The theoretical link would be stronger if the student named the exact concept being tested more explicitly.

The study area boundaries on the main sampling map could be clearer.

The student describes the Tourist Service Index and environmental-quality survey with enough detail for the reader to understand the basic procedure.

The methods are clearly connected to the comparison between the two study areas.

The student's use of worksheets, mapped points, and photographs shows that they did collect primary field evidence.

The sample size is small, especially for the attractiveness survey.

The starting points are not convincingly random, which weakens reliability.

The methods do not fully test the causal wording of the research question.
