My global issue focuses on the resistance of systemic racism in America that forms a collective empowered movement to reclaim black identity and challenge subjugation. Franz Fanon, the writer and activist, theorizes that the black subject remains ‘the other’, forced to adopt a ‘white mask’ to navigate a racialized society.
