IB Economics SL Internal Assessment Example

The student included two relevant AD–AS diagrams that directly support their argument.

The diagrams are accurate, clearly labelled, and well integrated with the written commentary.

The accompanying explanations clearly show how the shifts in the diagrams link to the evidence and policy discussion.

The student could make the diagrams even stronger by briefly stating the assumptions behind them.

A short note on how the diagrams simplify real-world conditions would show deeper diagram interpretation.

The student uses economic terminology appropriately and consistently throughout the commentary.

Technical language such as expansionary monetary policy, aggregate demand, short-run aggregate supply, and recessionary gap is used in context.

The terminology supports the analysis rather than sounding inserted or memorised.

The student could tighten a few phrases to make the wording even more polished and precise.

A small number of expressions could be phrased more carefully to avoid any minor imprecision.
