2.1 Unpacking the IB Math IA Assessment Criteria

The Math IA is assessed using five criteria (A–E), each with specific descriptors that determine a score band and are assessed individually.
The total points across all criteria contribute to the overall assessment.
The goal is to help students consistently aim for the highest levels of description.
The Mathematics Exploration is assessed using these five criteria:
1. These simplified rubrics are designed to give teachers and students a quick reference for each criterion, integrating the essence of the high and mid-band performance levels.
