Criteria Feedback
- The topic is communicated accurately and effectively with clear and appropriate purpose and focus throughout the report.
- The research question is clearly stated, sharply delimited to a single symbol in Marina, and revisited effectively in the conclusion.
- Section headings and topic sentences sustain focus consistently, reinforcing the investigation’s coherence.
- There is no dedicated methodology section outlining how or why sources were selected.
- The process for evaluating or filtering sources (e.g., theoretical versus popular-web materials) is not made explicit.
- Occasional digressions into broader Gothic history momentarily detract from the central focus on the mariposa negra.

Criteria Feedback
- Source material is applied clearly and purposefully to support analysis of the symbol.
- Subject knowledge of Gothic conventions, Zafón’s biography, and symbolic theory is coherent and well-anchored in textual evidence.
- Terminology and theoretical concepts are used accurately and consistently throughout.
- A few citations (e.g., blog reviews) have limited scholarly weight and minor formatting flaws.
- The biographical context of Zafón could be more tightly linked to the symbolism analysis.
- Some secondary sources (e.g., informal web articles) reduce the overall scholarly rigor.
2.1·Suggestion

Criteria Feedback
- Research consistently aligns with the research question, drawing on a solid mix of primary and secondary materials.
- Analysis moves beyond summary to map the symbol’s appearances onto thematic and character developments.
- The argument is logically structured, with coherent discussion of limitations and avenues for further study.
- Depth of source evaluation is limited; reliability and critical authority of some materials are not fully interrogated.
- Counter-arguments and alternative readings of the symbol are scarce.
