A.3Research methodology
Moderate
Criteria Feedback
- The research question is clearly stated, focused and consistently informs the analysis.
- Methodology is mostly complete, using reputable datasets and multiple nonlinear regression models.
- Topic and purpose are communicated adequately, with relevant mathematical context and introduction of key terms.
- Justification for the choice of time interval and tools (TI-84/Excel) is minimal, reducing methodological transparency.
- Background discussion is verbose and occasionally drifts from the mathematical focus.
- Limited source triangulation and no discussion of data reliability or potential biases.

B.2Use of terminology and concepts

Criteria Feedback
- Consistent and generally correct use of subject-specific terminology (e.g., coefficient of determination, log–linear transformation).
- Accurate presentation of regression functions and clear graphical illustrations (e.g., power regression plot, dual line graphs).
- Some imprecision in distinguishing dependent vs. independent variables and occasional conceptual lapses.
- Superficial discussion of deeper mathematical links (e.g., overfitting with high-degree polynomials, logistic model derivation).
- Key parameters in models (e.g., logistic growth constants) are not fully defined or interpreted in context.
